AceMBLEx ("we," "us," or "our") is operated by Eastern School of Massage (EMSOM). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use the AceMBLEx platform at acemblex.com (the "Service").

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address, full name (if provided), and password. Passwords are securely hashed and never stored in plain text.

Study Activity Data

We collect data about your use of the platform, including practice question responses, exam scores, study session duration, progress metrics, achievements, streaks, and starred items. This data is used to personalize your study experience and track your progress toward MBLEx readiness.

Payment Information

If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe, Inc. We do not receive, store, or have access to your full credit card number, debit card number, or bank account details. We receive only a Stripe customer identifier, your subscription status, and your plan type so we can manage your account access.

AI Chat Conversations

When you use the AI Chat feature (Atlas or Maya), your messages are sent to Anthropic, PBC for processing. We send your messages and, for Atlas, summary study data (scores, weak areas) to personalize responses. We do not store chat conversation content on our servers. Conversations are stored locally in your browser's session storage and are cleared when you close the browser tab.

Automatically Collected Information

Our hosting provider (Netlify) and authentication provider (Supabase) may automatically collect standard server log data, including IP addresses, browser type, referring pages, and access timestamps. This data is used for security monitoring and service reliability.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the AceMBLEx study platform
  • Personalize your study experience, including adaptive recommendations and AI tutoring
  • Track your study progress and generate readiness assessments
  • Process subscription payments and manage your account
  • Send service-related communications (account verification, password resets, subscription changes)
  • Monitor for abuse, fraud, and security threats
  • Aggregate anonymized usage data to improve the platform

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your study data for advertising. We do not share your information with third parties for their marketing purposes.

3. Third-Party Services

The Service uses the following third-party providers, each with their own privacy policies:

  • Supabase (supabase.com) — Authentication, database, and backend services. Your account data and study progress are stored in Supabase's infrastructure. Supabase Privacy Policy

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in Supabase's cloud infrastructure with row-level security policies that ensure each user can only access their own data. All data transmission between your browser and our servers uses HTTPS encryption. Authentication tokens are managed by Supabase's secure session management.

While we implement reasonable security measures, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account information and study data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data from our active systems within 30 days. Some data may persist in automated backups for up to 90 days, after which backups are rotated and overwritten.

Anonymized, aggregated data that cannot identify you may be retained indefinitely for platform improvement purposes.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data — your study progress, profile information, and attempt history are visible in your account dashboard
  • Correct inaccurate data — you can update your name and email in your profile settings
  • Delete your account and data — contact us at the email below to request account deletion
  • Export your data — contact us to request an export of your study data

7. Children's Privacy

AceMBLEx is designed for massage therapy students, who are typically adults enrolled in professional training programs. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

8. Cookies and Local Storage

AceMBLEx uses browser local storage (not traditional cookies) to store your authentication session, study preferences, and daily question counts. This data remains on your device and is not transmitted to third parties. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics cookies.

The Supabase authentication system stores session tokens in local storage to keep you logged in between visits. You can clear this data at any time through your browser settings.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
